It unites two culinary regions: the Levant and Italy. On the one hand, you get super moist and fluffy <strong>focaccia bread<\/strong> and on the other, the famous Levant Za&#8217;atar spice mix on top. This recipe is simple and sure to succeed! Try the classic in a completely new way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-focaccia-is-a-dream-of-bread\">Focaccia is a dream of bread<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Focaccia is a <strong>flatbread<\/strong> from <em>Liguria<\/em>, a region in the northwest of Italy. The bread is world-famous, especially for its rich flavor, which it gets thanks to a whole lot of good olive oil. Focaccia is therefore an absolute classic of Italian cuisine for good reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bread consists of a rather moist <strong>yeast dough<\/strong> that requires a long <strong>resting time<\/strong>. The <strong>olive oil<\/strong> gives focaccia its extra kick of flavor. These are also flatbreads, which are traditionally spread with olive oil and za&#8217;atar. However, Manakish are rather thin, like a pizza. Interestingly, focaccia is even seen as the predecessor of the classic pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-you-need-for-succulent-focaccia-with-olives-amp-za-atar\">What you need for succulent focaccia with olives &amp; za&#8217;atar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/081cf116-5e61-4b9b-88b3-a0e221192a2f.jpeg\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The best thing about the tastiest things is that you don&#8217;t need many ingredients. Here are the <strong>ingredients<\/strong> you need for my <strong>focaccia recipe<\/strong>. You will find the exact quantities below in the recipe card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All you need for the dough is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wheat flour (type 550)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dry yeast (but you can also use fresh yeast)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Olive oil (for spreading)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the topping you need:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Olive oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Olives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Za&#8217;atar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To taste: Pinch of salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/85442c54-b534-4d15-8b17-c7be8e3a27eb.jpeg\" alt=\"A light-colored bowl filled with green olives.\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-knead-amp-fold-how-to-easily-prepare-focaccia\">Knead &amp; fold: How to easily prepare focaccia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, <strong>preparing<\/strong> focaccia with olives is very simple. However, the yeast dough needs time to rise properly. Plan to walk for at least <strong>8 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially at the beginning, it is important to stretch and fold the dough, which is actually very moist. Here you will find an overview. You can find the exact instructions with the times and temperatures in the recipe card below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-prepare-the-dough\">Prepare the dough<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/feddcc7f-04b1-4b57-9225-e9bda9655a7d.jpeg\" alt=\"Focaccia dough in a dark bowl.\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, mix the water with a little yeast and leave to stand for a short time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then mix all the ingredients for the dough and knead into a very moist and sticky dough.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oil a mold properly. The dough should rest in it. Now place the dough in this tin and brush it with plenty of olive oil to prevent it from drying out. To do this, simply reach under one end of the dough with wet hands, pull the dough up and fold it over the rest of the dough. There is already enough flavor. You have fresh bread, the best olive oil, aromatic olives and delicious za&#8217;atar. A mixture that is heavenly in itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also slice the flatbread and top it with fresh <strong>tomatoes<\/strong>, a little <strong>mozzarella<\/strong> or <strong>burrata<\/strong> and some <strong>mortadella<\/strong>, for example. Then you have the perfect sandwich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have another tip for you: In my opinion, the Lebanese cream cheese <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrobadia.de\/en\/labneh-lebanese-fresh-cheese\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">labneh<\/a> is the perfect dip for this <strong>olive focaccia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a
