And this is how it works: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-1-soak-the-chickpeas\">Step 1: Soak the chickpeas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is best to <strong>soak<\/strong><strong>dried chickpeas<\/strong> <strong>before cooking<\/strong>. This shortens the cooking time and saves energy. Cover the chickpeas with double the amount of water and leave them to soak <strong>for 12 hours<\/strong> (preferably overnight). Just note that they then need to <strong>cook for<\/strong> at least <strong>three hours<\/strong> until they are done. You can then <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrobadia.de\/en\/freeze-chickpeas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">freeze<\/a> them in portions and always have ready-made peas to hand when you need them quickly.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Save time: <\/strong>With a pressure cooker, the soaked peas only need 20 minutes to cook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Calculate portions correctly: <\/strong>100 g of dried chickpeas make approx. 200 g of cooked peas after soaking and cooking.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Extra tip: <\/strong>If you&#8217;re in a hurry, you can also use chickpeas from a can or jar. Simply pour the peas into a sieve and rinse them once under running water.
