They were nice and crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. The beet added to the chickpeas and herbs complemented the little balls with a delicious sweet and earthy note. The <strong>recipe<\/strong> is really quite simple.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-difference-between-beet-falafel-and-original-falafel\">What is the difference between beet falafel and original falafel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may sound strange, but the only difference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrobadia.de\/en\/how-to-make-falafel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">original falafel<\/a> is the <strong>added beet<\/strong>. BUT: this one ingredient makes all the difference.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The taste of the beet falafel is slightly different, as the beet naturally gives the chickpea balls some of their typical sweet, earthy taste. The falafel also takes on a <strong>reddish color<\/strong>, but you shouldn&#8217;t expect a bright red. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>texture<\/strong> inside the beet falafel is also slightly different. I would describe it as a little <strong>meaty<\/strong>. I definitely need to experiment a bit more with this and maybe make a burger out of it one day. The falafel is definitely juicy.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-beet-falafel-these-are-the-ingredients\">Beet falafel &#8211; these are the ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ingredients are similar to the original: <strong>dried chickpeas<\/strong>, <strong>garlic<\/strong>, <strong>onions<\/strong>, flat-leaf <strong>parsley<\/strong>, fresh <strong>coriander<\/strong>, <strong>coriander seeds<\/strong> and <strong>cumin<\/strong>, as well as a little <strong>salt<\/strong> and <strong>baking powder<\/strong>. <strong>Pre-cooked beet<\/strong> is then added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-juicy-beet-falafel\">How to make juicy beet falafel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can make falafel with beet in no time at all with the following steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Soak the chickpeas<\/strong>: For this recipe, you will need dried chickpeas, which you should soak in plenty of water for at least 12 hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Make the dough<\/strong>: Now simply add all the ingredients together and finely chop them in a food processor or hand blender. The dough should not be too fine, it should have a slightly coarse texture. After mixing, the dough should rest in the fridge for approx. 1 hour.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shape the beet falafel<\/strong>: Now you can shape the falafel. You can easily do this with your hands. Once you have formed the balls, you can press them down lightly. This creates the typical shape.     <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fry<\/strong>: Fry the falafel in hot oil (approx. 160\u00b0C &#8211; 170\u00b0C) for about 4 minutes until they are nice and crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside.  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why not make a double portion straight away, as you can simply <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrobadia.de\/en\/freezing-falafel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">freeze the falafel.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images
