Freezing falafel<\/strong> works without any problems. Even though the crispy chickpea balls are usually eaten straight away, sometimes there are a few left over. Or do you want to prepare falafel in advance and then take them straight out of the freezer when you need them? No problem, there are just a few things to bear in mind. <\/p>\n\n

Can you freeze falafel?<\/h2>\n\n

The answer is yes! You can freeze falafel and store it in the freezer for another time. I have a good trick on how you can freeze the falafel so that they are well stowed away without freezing together in the freezer. <\/p>\n\n

In just 3 steps: How to freeze falafel correctly<\/h2>\n\n
    \n
  1. Leave the falafel to cool<\/strong>: Before you freeze the falafel, they should be completely cooled down. Otherwise, unwanted ice crystals could form on them due to the evaporation of water. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Pre-freeze the falafel<\/strong>: Before they finally disappear into the cold, you should place the falafel next to each other on a large plate at a very slight distance from each other and then place the plate in the freezer for approx. 1 hour<\/strong>. You should do this “pre-freezing” so that the falafel don’t stick together later in the freezer bag and you can take them out in portions when needed. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Freeze<\/strong> the falafel<\/strong>: After the hour of pre-freezing, the falafel are hard and can be frozen in a freezer bag or a freshness box for up to 6 months<\/strong>. You can then remove them individually as required. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    You don’t necessarily have to defrost frozen falafel. They can be transferred straight from the freezer to the deep fryer<\/a><\/strong>, preheated oven<\/a> or hot air fryer<\/a>. This way, they retain their crispy texture and delicious aroma. <\/p>\n\n
