But sometimes the eye is bigger than the stomach and it would be a waste to have to dispose of the hummus. So it&#8217;s better to freeze hummus and have some for later.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-you-freeze-hummus\">Can you freeze hummus?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if I think it&#8217;s unnecessary, <a href=\"https:\/\/bistrobadia.de\/en\/hummus-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hummus<\/a> can actually be frozen and defrosted later without any problems. So it&#8217;s really no problem at all, but I do have a few tips for you that you should be aware of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-freeze-hummus\">How to freeze hummus!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;ve made a large portion of hummus and have some left over, don&#8217;t panic. Freezing homemade hummus is very easy. All you need is a clean, airtight <strong>freshness box<\/strong>. Alternatively, you could also use a <strong>freezer bag<\/strong>. Simply follow these steps to freeze your hummus:    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your hummus should be <strong>free from other food residues<\/strong>. These could spoil the delicious cream in the long term and you want to be able to enjoy it on its own after defrosting. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The food storage box or freezer bag should be clean.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put your hummus in the freshness box or bag and simply put it in the freezer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hummus will keep frozen for about 4 months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-defrosting-hummus\">Defrosting hummus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to enjoy your frozen hummus later, you should defrost the delicious cream gently. To do this, take your hummus out of the freezer and either defrost it <strong>at room temperature<\/strong> or leave it to cool slightly in the fridge for a few hours.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would not defrost hummus in the microwave.
