Prawns from the hot air fryer – quick, fresh and full of flavor
Prawns from the hot air fryer are proof that aromatic indulgence can also be uncomplicated. Whether as a light dinner, part of a summer mezze or as a delicious starter for guests – with my recipe, these prawns can be on the table in 20 minutes and taste as if they’ve come straight from a beach kitchen.
The ingredients for airfryer prawns: Little effort, lots of flavor
Sometimes it doesn’t take much to be full and happy. Just a few juicy prawns, fresh herbs and a little lemon and you get maximum enjoyment with minimum effort. The secret of this recipe for prawns from the air fryer lies in the simplicity of the ingredients – each one brings a distinct flavor.
You need the following ingredients for the prawns from the hot air fryer:
- Black Tiger prawns: are particularly meaty and juicy, and their size makes them perfect for preparation in the air fryer.
- Fresh coriander: gives the dish a special spiciness.
- Lemon juice: brings a fresh note to the food thanks to its acidity.
- Garlic: gives the marinade depth and a spicy touch.
- Olive oil: enhances the flavor of the shrimp and balances all the ingredients.

This will make your prawns even more aromatic
- A little chili and grated lemon zest give the marinade a fresh spiciness.
- Instead of coriander, you can also use fresh mint and parsley, as coriander is a bit special and not everyone likes it.
- Add sumac to refine the prawns with a tart and sour note
If you are planning a seafood dinner, these tasty prawns are an excellent starter for oven-baked sea bream or roasted pulpo.
3 steps to perfect prawn enjoyment
Preparing Airfyer prawns is super easy – you don’t need a long preparation time or any special cooking skills. All you need are a few fresh ingredients, a little patience when marinating – and the air fryer will do the rest.
Quick meal prep tip:
You can marinate the prawns in the morning and put them straight into the air fryer in the evening – this saves time and the flavors are even more intense.
In just a few steps, I’ll show you how to conjure up a really tasty but simple dish on your plate:
- Prepare the prawns for cooking if they are not yet ready.
- Mix the marinade and roll the prawns in it.
- Cook the prawns in the air fryer and then serve.

My tip: The exact cooking time depends on the size of the prawns. Smaller ones need more
6-8 minutes, large prawns 10-12 minutes. So it’s better to check in between and adjust the cooking time.
