Halloumi wraps
These halloumi wraps are an ingenious lunch or dinner. The vegetarian wrapsare quick to prepare and are super filling. That’s why they are also ideal as a meal prep – simply roll everything up and take the halloumi wraps with you in a lunch box.
The wrap filling is the most important thing
For delicious wraps, you need good bread such as Lebanese flatbread, which you can also make yourself. Alternatively, you can also use tortillas.
Once you have the bread, all that’s missing is the filling. Today I’ve opted for vegetarian halloumi wraps, so I’ve added a good portion of colorful vegetables to the cheese in the bread. Peppers , zucchinis and onions are always a good mix and, of course, fresh parsley is a must.
Make your own vegetarian wraps – quick & easy
The filling is tossed briefly in the pan, a little cream is stirred in and then everything goes into the flatbread – sounds easy, doesn’t it? It is and that’s why I love wraps so much.
The thin flatbreads can be filled and served as desired. The falafel wrap is also a classic that I like to snack on during my lunch break. But today it’s halloumi wraps, which you can prepare in just a few minutes:
- Chop and sauté the vegetables.
- Cut the halloumi and fry.
- Mix the tahini cream.
- Spread everything on a flatbread, garnish with parsley and wrap up.
Don’t fancy frying the halloumi in a pan? Then simply fry it in a hot air fryer, where it becomes particularly crispy and gives the vegetarian wrap that extra crunch.

Tips & tricks for homemade halloumi wraps
- Preparing halloumi is not only possible in a pan. There are also other ways that you can try.
- Instead of peppers and zucchinis, you can also sauté eggplant and cauliflower. You can replace the vegetables with your favorite vegetables.
- For a spicy touch, you can grate garlic into the tahini cream, spread some harissa on the flatbread or sprinkle a good pinch of chili over the filling.
Wrap halloumi wraps properly – here’s how!
To prevent your wrap from falling apart, don’t overfill it. And drizzle a little less sauce over the halloumi and vegetables rather than too much – that way the bread won’t get soggy.
Cover and wrap the wrap:
- Place some roasted vegetables and crispy halloumi in the middle of the wrap.
- Pour some tahini cream and fresh parsley over the filling.
- Fold up the halloumi wrap so that it forms a half moon and then roll it up.
- Caution: as both ends remain open, it can drip out at the bottom. Eat the wrap over a plate or wrap it in additional paper.
Now you know everything you need to know about vegetarian halloumi wraps and can get started right away! Have fun and, of course, bon appétit.
