Marble cookies with tahini

Cookies always go! And if you can’t decide between light and dark cookies, mix them up and make marble cookies! You can find classic American cookies in any cookie jar, for this reason add a special ingredient to your cookies: tahini. I promise you, marble cookies with tahini will be the new stars of cookie heaven. The first ones I made available for sampling were polished off in no time – an empty plate says all you want to hear.

Make cookies yourself – not only for Christmas

Somehow it has stuck in my head that I only bake cookies at Christmas time. But why, really? The dry Christmas cookies with too much colored icing almost always taste bland anyway. Sure, it’s all about the great baking fun and letting off steam while decorating – and then giving them away as a nice gift at Christmas … It’s time to make cookies yourself that can be baked and crunched all year round. It’s time for nutty sweet marble cookies with tahini! You can also give them as a gift – and I tell you from experience: they are immediately eaten, absolutely loved and you will be sent back home to bake more.

The one or the other is a little skeptical at the beginning, because he has only stirred Tahini in his hummus or sometimes mixed under the dressing. The sweet variant in the Cookie Dough is rather unknown. Marble cake is an old classic – so just make a traditional cake into a cookie and add a new ingredient. This creates new treats that become indispensable.

Marble cookies simply combine everything that is delicious and still look so beautiful. Finally, no more colorful, sticky icing that somehow always sticks everywhere but not on the cookie. For aesthetes who like to decorate I recommend therefore very simple: white chocolate and tahini.

A cookie is a good cookie if it tastes good. That’s all I need to say. Leave the supermarket ones on the shelf and create your own cookies that really aren’t complicated to bake. Taste your way to delicious mocha cookies and then eventually make your own creation! But for now, start with the magical marble cookies!

Ingredients

For the chocolate cookies

  • 150 g Butter
  • 80 g Sugar
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 200 g Wheat flour type 405
  • 1/4 TSP Baking powder
  • 20 g Cocoa
  • 4 EL Tahini

For the glaze

  • 30 g white chocolate
  • 2 EL Tahini

Zubereitung

For the chocolate cookies

  • Preheat oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat.
  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and salt and beat until creamy.
  • Mix flour and baking powder and add little by little.
  • Divide dough into two equal halves.
  • Knead one half with cocoa, the other with tahini.
  • For the marble look, divide the doughs into small pieces and roll them back into one large one until the light and dark doughs have twisted into a pattern.
  • Shape the dough into a roll about 30 cm long. If the dough is too soft, you can wrap it in cling film and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Then it can be worked better again.
  • Cut the dough roll into slices about 2 cm thick and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Be sure to leave enough space between the slices, because they will still separate during baking.
  • Bake marble cookies for about 10-15 minutes and then let cool.

For the glaze

  • Melt white chocolate over a water bath and mix with tahini.
  • Using a spoon, dip into the glaze and pipe thin strands over the cooled cookies.
